3. Instructions for Use

This symbol indicates that instructions can be found here and that it is advisable to follow them.
Product care for Premium Silicon Products is rather easy. If you consider and adopt our following instructions, you will enjoy using our premium quality products for many, many years. This has positive effects on your household budget. Sustainability, long durability and product life time also make them a perfect alternative option and substitute to all single-use-plastics made for same and similar purposes.
Additionally, it has to be considered that every approach or step to weaken the throw-away-economy is an approach or step to reduce unnecessary energy production and to reduce unnecessary ocean littering and environmental pollution.
After again pointing at the benefits for your purse or wallet and for nature or environment, a third big beneficiary has to be mentioned: your health! Unlike almost any plastic item, our premium quality silicone products neither require to nor do contain additives, odorants, softeners, hardeners or any other harmful substance, which might cause health problems or trigger allergies, sicknesses or diseases.

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product does not contain Phthalates.
Phthalates, or phthalate esters, are esters of phthalic acid. They are mainly used as plasticizers, and as substances added to plastics in order to increase their flexibility, transparency, durability, and longevity. They are used primarily to soften polyvinyl chloride (PVC). Phthalates with lower molecular weight are suspicious to act as hormones in male human bodies causing infertility,      overweight and diabetes; studies in Canada and the U.S. show that low-molecular Phthalates are a risk factor for the male embryo leading to premature delivery and fetal “feminization”.
Any premium silicone item produced and sold by ITPC Inc. is free of PHT

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product does not contain Bisphenol-A
Bisphenol A (BPA) is an organic synthetic compound belonging to the group of diphenylmethane derivatives and bisphenols, with two hydroxyphenyl groups. BPA is a xenoestrogen, exhibiting estrogen-mimicking, hormone-like properties raising concerns about its suitability in some consumer products and food containers. Canada, the E.U. and the U.S. have banned BPA use in baby bottles.BPA is suspicious of its potential hazards to cause growing of tumors and cancer since it belongs to the group of endocrine-disrupting chemicals.

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product is safe with food acids and acidulants
Acidulants are chemical compounds that confer a tart, sour, or acidic flavor to foods. Common acidulants are acetic acid (E 260), citric acid (E 330), fumaric acid (E 297), lactic acid (E 270), malic acid (E 296), tartaric acid (E 334), and vinegar. Many beverages, such as colas, contain phosphoric acid. Sour candies often are formulated with malic acid (malum is Latin for apple).

Throughout the European Union all legal food additives have to be identified by an E number; food additives are substances added intentionally to foodstuffs to perform certain technological functions, for example to color, to sweeten or to help preserve foods. Currently, 361 different food additives with plus 28 without E number are permitted in the E.U and Switzerland.

Any premium silicone item produced and sold by ITPC Inc. cannot be damaged by food acids.

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product is safe for food contact
The international symbol for “food safe” material is a wine glass and a fork symbol. The symbol indicates that the material used in the product is considered safe for food contact. Food contact materials are materials that are intended to be in contact with food. Although legislation across the globe is different, the food safe symbol generally assures that:
a) the container surface is free of any toxic contaminants which could be contacted from the manufacturing process.
b) the container material shall not potentially become a source of toxic contamination through usage (degeneration).

Any premium silicone item produced and sold by ITPC Inc. is safe for food contact.

This symbol is the technical indicator for a product-specific temperature range of safe operation.
Addition curing with crosslinkers of platinum catalyst systems has transformed the raw rubber polymers to elastomeric silicone; in order to maintain product elasticity and other beneficial material properties use our premium silicone products only in environments with temperatures above -40° C / -40° F and  below 230° C /446° F. These are not parameter values of technical material limits; however, we do advise every user not to go beyond the mentioned threshold values.
Your freezer usually operates at temperatures between -18° to -20° C / -0.4° to -4° F, while your refrigerator has more moderate temperatures in a range from 0° to 8° C / 32° to 46.4° F; Sous-Vide cooking uses water temperatures within a range from 65° to 95° C / 149° to 203° F, while steam cooking at normal pressure requires 100° to 105° C / 212° to 221° F environment temperature.

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product is safe with microwave food preparation
A microwave oven heat food by passing microwave radiation through it, which is non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation with a frequency higher than ordinary radio waves but lower than infrared radiation. Consumer microwave ovens use frequencies in one of the ISM (industrial, scientific, medical) bands, usually at 2.45 GHz.
Water, fat, and other substances in the food absorb energy from the microwaves in a process called dielectric heating; since many molecules (such as those of water) are electric dipoles, meaning that they have a partial positive charge at one end and a partial negative charge at the other, and therefore start rotating when trying to align themselves with the alternating electro-magnetic field of the microwaves. Rotating molecules hit other molecules putting them into motion, thus dispersing energy. This energy, dispersed as molecular rotations, vibrations and/or translations in solids and liquids raises the temperature of the food. This is a very efficient, energy saving and healthy cooking method, in particular  when preparing individual servings or hot beverages.
It is a common misconception that microwave ovens heat food by operating at a special resonance of water molecules in the food.

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product is not safe with open flames.

Chemically, more precisely called polymerized siloxanes or polysiloxanes, silicones are “hybrids” which consist of an inorganic silicon-oxygen backbone chain with organic side groups attached to the tetravalent silicon atoms. For specific purposes, organic side groups can be used to link two or more of these -Si-O- backbones together and by varying the -Si-O- chain lengths, side groups, and crosslinking, silicones can be synthesized with a wide variety of properties and compositions.
But because of the organic – polymeric – components, silicones will always perform negative reaction to direct contact with open flames or heat sources: the product surface will scorch and the material will lose its elastic structure. Be very careful, when using premium silicon products near or by the fireside, near diner candles, near charcoal, electrical and gas grills; when using gas-fired oven appliances, make sure that ITPC Inc. premium silicone products do not get in touch with open flame at the bottom.
ITPC Inc. premium silicone items are NOT SAFE with OPEN FIRE / DIRECT HEAT SOURCE CONTACT

This symbol is the technical indicator that the product is not safe with knives and sharp-edged objects.
The biggest enemy of of your new ITPC Inc premium silicon product is a knife, a piece of broken glass or any other sharp-edged object, which gets in physical contact with the product and scratches its surface. Being scratched (or cut) the silicone will sooner or later (immediately) lose its structural integrity and thus, the product loses its functionality. Therefore, better keep away sharp-edged objects and knives from your premium silicone product
